We love this ski area. The new lifts added in the last few years are really amazing. The bunny hill is great for kids and beginners. There are several lodges spaced around which is perfect because one is always pretty close.

Big Sky Resort

You'll enjoy our exceptional lodging accommodations, fine dining and meeting facilities. In addition to the extensive recreation opportunities we are known for our breathtaking scenery, abundant wildlife and gracious hospitality. Located midway between Bozeman and West Yellowstone, Montana, we share the same splendor as Yellowstone National Park.

This area is very special since we share many attributes of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. We have implemented many environmental practices and continue to find new ways to operate and develop a sustainable and environmentally friendly mountain resort.

Big Sky Resort supports the ADA and its regulations regarding the use of service animals, manually-powered mobility aids, power-driven mobility devices and adaptive devices with the safety and enjoyment of all guests in mind. For complete accessibility information, please download our most recent ADA Statement.

We love Big Sky! There is great terrain from beginner to the super advanced. There are lots of back country runs, tree runs, groomers, and trails to find. I have been skiing here for 25 years and am still not board. The runs are super family friendly as they mostly go back to the same two base camps. When they say the biggest skiing in America they mean it!

Montana Snow Mobile Association

A vast amount of National Forest land is open for winter travel. In some areas those traveling by skis, snowshoes, and snowmobiles must share the same routes and areas. Common sense and courtesy will provide a safe and pleasant experience for everyone.

“One of the beauties of a state as open and free as Montana is that activities you wouldn’t (or couldn’t) consider elsewhere suddenly become possible if you are brave enough.”

Ice Skating

In the winter months, there are several places in Bozeman where you can strap on some skates and enjoy a bit of ice skating. The Bogart Pavillion on South Church Avenue has a fully covered & fully fenced ice rink, which is great for kids! Just a few blocks north of downtown, Beall Park has an ice rink & playground. For indoor skating and hockey players, the place to go is Haynes Pavilion. The Gallatin Ice Foundation and Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association have youth and adult leagues, lessons, open skate times and so much more.

The best skating rink in town. Offers everything from public skating to figure skating and curling to Hockey. Home to the Bozeman Ice Dogs hockey team. If you don’t have skates you can rent them during public skating events. Fully enclosed rink so you can skate no matter the weather.

Museum of the Rockies

If you’ve had enough of all that fresh powder, a day at the world-class Museum of the Rockies is a day well spent! Open year round, their ever-changing exhibits, the dinosaur complex and our personal favorite, the planetarium, are some of the many great things to check out while at the museum.
